We’re driving down the Pacific Coast highway route, and are looking to spend about 10 days in the So Cal area. We’ve reserved state park camp sites on our way down, but not sure about the Orange County area. Anyone have any good tent camping recommendations or inexpensive motel/hotel recommendations? Thanks!

I’m moving from Winnipeg to Sudbury and planning on doing the drive in 2-4 days. What are some good hotels (or camp grounds) to stay at? What are some neat things to see (I like giant road side attractions, Wawa goose here I come! and nice scenic views, waterfalls, whitewater)?

Hi,

I was hoping you could help me with deciding where to stay at Silverstone this coming summer. Where do you think the best campsite is? We are all a young bunch of lads around 25 years old so dont want to stay somewhere where you cannot be abit noisy. We are more than likely going to camp, however i am open to cheap b&b’s and hotel near that you may recommend. Thanks

Hotels in Camp Pendleton/on base and flying?

My boyfriend is going to graduate from Marine boot camp in July, and I’m the one who’s trying to coordinate everything because his mom doesn’t have internet access or a credit card.

We’re from Michigan, so I’m wondering if anyone knew the best way to go about this. Also, my boyfriend wrote that his Senior Drill Sergeant mentioned that hotels on base are a lot cheaper, but I can’t find much information about this, or if there is actually any. I’m assuming that if they’re on base, they’d be a lot closer to him as well, so I (and his family) would prefer that. I’m also not sure what place I should go to try to arrange flights, or if I can buy his ticket back and send it to him so he’d be on the same flight as us.

Any suggestions on anything? Thank you if you can help!

How can I make camping more enjoyable for my wife? She hated the first time?

VirtueOfIntolerance asked:

Our first time camping was a disaster for my wife. Nothing was wrong, Weather was great (maybe a bit cool, 70 during day, 50 at night) but not bad. The kids loved it, but my wife was miserable. She was cold even in the thickest sleeping bag we had (and she says she doesn’t like her face being cold. and even though I gave her an extra pad to sleep on (2 4 inch pads) she said her back was killing her. I’m so dissapointed. I can’t accept that she can’t enjoy anything short of expensive hotels. For one thing she needs to lose about 100 lbs which is probably part of the problem, but is there any kind of padding to use for her back to be more comfortable?
