Are there any moderately priced hotels on the waterfront in Duluth, Minnesota?

Camping Hotels
Jimbo asked:

I’m thinking about possibly staying in a hotel instead of camping on my summer vacation to Duluth, Minnesota. I was wondering if anyone knew of any inexpensive, nice, waterfront (Lake Superior) hotels in the Duluth, Minnesota area.
I’m looking to spend no more than $100 per night and I’ll be visiting in May.

There are more hotels and motels in Minnesota than there are lakes. Some are pretty rustic…it all depends on what you want to spend.

Try the Cherry Inn…its located on Wicker Street in Duluth. Its a great hotel with nice spacious room and internet. I think also it has an indoor pool. You can actually take your socks off in the room.

The end of May is the start of peak season in Duluth so you might not get a “nice” waterfront room for less than $100 at that time. But there are many hotels in Canal Park you could check into rates. All of the hotels I’ve seen there are decent: Hampton, Comfort Suites, Hawthorne, South Pier. You could also try the Best Western Edgewater at the East End of Duluth (but still overlooking the lake). Check out this site for options:
