We, live in Germany, and my husband is going to get a 4 days off work and he wanted to do something, he wanted to go to Italy to hotel near the beach and then maybe visit venice, but the hotels that i’ve seen dont look like they have much stuff for kids, and the ones that do are way too expensive, so I was thinking that maybe we could go camping theres a beautiful lake 30 min from our house and instead of paying for a hotel we can get a camping stuff, my husband say hell do whatever I want but he doesnt seem very exited about it, our kids are 1yo, 21/2 yo, and 41/2 yo, but they are very good kids and love the lake, theres some sand not like in the beach but they play with it, what should I do?
we wouldnt be camping for the 4 days maybe just one night and and with the days left we can go shoping to the czech republic is only 3 hrs from here.

Go camping!!!!! Kids will love it!!
I live in the midwest USA. I started taking my children (two daughters) camping and fishing at a very young age. they are now late 20′s and have blessed me with adorable grandchildren.
They still have very nice and vivid memories of those days.
I was fortunate enough to afford to have taken them numerous places. Staying in 4-5 star hotels. the beach-mountains, etc. Yet something about “roughing it” with mom and dad is what they really remember. And they now take their children on little camping trips.
Perhaps consider(if you go) taking some games they can play. At that young age they can get restless. And consider children type fishing poles.
Venice will still be there. But seems children are grown-gone so quickly. Build some outdoor memories with them?
Just a few meandering thoughts.
If you’re going to Italy, then you could combine both Ideas. Lake Garda has numerous Campsites that are perfect for pitching tent. If that doesn’t float your boat, families usually prefer a mobile home that you rent cheaply from Keycamp or some organisation similar.
Small kids will love the lake which is shallow for at least 200m out, but the rocks are sometimes sharp so sailing shoes are much recommended. There’s always a pool at these sites anyway.
As for Venice, it’s beautiful and enchanting, but for kids so young I doubt it’ll be all that meaningful. the Gondolas are far too pricey and the sights are usually packed this time of year.
Tiberius’ Top Tip: If you’re in a quandry as to wear to go and what to do, combine the two. For the most part you can never go wrong with Italy, so long as the kids don’t start drinking…
well i personally would want to go to italy but thats just me. younger kids would probably enjoy camping better, just ask them what they would rather do. you could try to do both, stay a couple days in italy and then go camping. hope you have a good trip.
Italy is overrated. Go camping. Your children will have more fun at the lake than they would in Italy.
