Me and my boyfriend are going up to Chicago this summer June 23-27 and we are doing a number of things while we are up there. We’re going to be visiting a bunch of friends who all live in different areas, going to Six Flags in Gurnee, and going to the downtown museums and zoos. Since we will be there for 4 days, we thought it would be cheaper to go camping rather than to stay in a hotel….plus we love the great outdoors. Our friends live in Arlington Heights, Orland Park, and Dekalb. Does anyone know of any campgrounds around those areas?? Somewhere in the middle would be great….otherwise probably within an hour or so. Also somewhere near a metra station or the L would be nice. Please help me out. Thanks!

We want to go camping as opposed to just staying in a hotel. We’re coming up from south Chicago, so anywhere on the way would be fine too…

Is there a place to camp out over night in Chicago in order to catch the Chicago Marathon the next day?
Some friends and I are planning to run the Chicago Marathon this year and would like to camp it out the following day instead of renting out an expensive hotel/motel room.
