Cheap alternatives to hotels in the UK?

sPoInK! asked:

i am trying to plan a trip to england. once there i will be packpacking my way across to ireland and scotland. The airline tickets alone are almost $1000 being that it will be in the summer.

i have the following questions:

1. Is there an alternative to hotels where it would be really cheap to stay in? We would be traveling a lot as we make our way across the countries so it makes sense to save and spend as little as possible, heck we’d even camp outside if we can.

2. Whats the cheapest city in England to land in? I believe the airline tickets are expensive because its London we’d be landing in, would other cities be less expensive?

Nix asked:

my friends and i are looking at going to one of the haven holiday camps for a few days next month, but we’re all sixteen. on the website it says that adults are counted as people aged 16+, which we all are, but i’ve been told by other people that to check us in at other hotels we’d have to be eighteen. does anyone know if this is the case at haven, as it doesn’t say on their website… any help would be appreciated (:

Biker friendly North Yorkshire hotels, B+Bs?

Timbo is here asked:

looking for biker friendly hotels and B+Bs in North Yorkshire. Need to have at least 10 double/twin rooms so smaller guest houses not likely to be of any use.
Need to have off road bike parking for about 11 bikes.
In a town on the coast with close access to food and drink so Scarborough and Whitby would be good or very near there.
Camping definitely not an option and en-suite required. (posh wives and girlfriends of rough bikers!)
2 nights August not bank holiday
All suggestions appreciated so long as they are about hotels and we do know about the Police enforcement there ta!

Are there any camp sites in Somerset which will take on a group of teenagers?

Mollix asked:

I have looked EVERYWHERE and everyone seems to **** us! We’re not all thugs, we have a group of 30 of us and the most feasible way to spend the night together would be to go camping, as booking about 10 hotel rooms is gonna be VERY expensive. Failing a campsite, Do any farmers have a field they wanna let out? We’ll behave we promise!
