I have never gone “camping-camping”; you know with the tents, the fire, sleeping bags, etc. I’ve always stayed in a cabin or hotel. Now I am going on a camping trip with my best friend and her family and i truthfully don’t know WHAT to pack.

We are going to be outside during the warm summer nights, sleeping in tents, and we have to walk|hike to the bathroom where she told me had frogs…

what do i pack and do you have any advice.
THIS IS FOR A WEEK. (:

thanks so much!

How would this work?

I need some ideas! I would like to travel across the country, stopping at each place for a few weeks or a month. But staying in hotels would be way too expensive. Camping is only an option when the weather is good.
Would it work for me to find someone who wants a roommate, or would they want you to stay for more than a few months?

Uncle B asked:

We are planning to travel around California and Nevada in April this year. We are flying to Los Angeles from the UK and then hiring one vehicle from there, travelling around for 3 weeks and returning to LA to fly back. We will be doing a mixture of camping (in our own tents) and staying in hotels. The group consists of 3 adults, 3 children and 1 two year old. We cannot decide between an 8 seater or a 12 seater minivan (hire vehicle). The websites suggest that an 8 seater may have room enough for all of us plus luggage plus 2 tents. There seem to be no decent illustrations of what the 8 seater and 12 seaters can carry. Does anyone know how much capacity 8 or 12 seaters have and what would you recommend for our party?

How can I make camping more enjoyable for my wife? She hated the first time?

VirtueOfIntolerance asked:

Our first time camping was a disaster for my wife. Nothing was wrong, Weather was great (maybe a bit cool, 70 during day, 50 at night) but not bad. The kids loved it, but my wife was miserable. She was cold even in the thickest sleeping bag we had (and she says she doesn’t like her face being cold. and even though I gave her an extra pad to sleep on (2 4 inch pads) she said her back was killing her. I’m so dissapointed. I can’t accept that she can’t enjoy anything short of expensive hotels. For one thing she needs to lose about 100 lbs which is probably part of the problem, but is there any kind of padding to use for her back to be more comfortable?
