Family of 4 driving from Seattle, looping Olympic National Park counter-clockwise on the 101 and ending at SEA-TAC. Can’t camp this time (not bringing camping gear), need hotels. Hotels w/i ONP seem booked. Traveling end of August (2009). Any suggestions on scheduling, what to see, where to stay would be great, never been to that area.

I’m doing a road trip next month, and am looking for hotels in Seattle. I found one, off of Aurora Ave next to the Space Needle. Is that a good area, as far as crime and what not? I’ve never been to Seattle, and none of my friends have either. Also, I’ll be camping along the Oregon and Washington coast on my way up mid-March, how cold is it? I read the avg temp is about 45. Any help or links are great appreciated!

I am driving from Seattle to Anchorage. How is the best way to approach this? My cousin has a little camper that I could pull behind my car….but are more little campers heated? anyway…would it make more sense to borrow the trailer, or stop at hotels from Seattle to Anchorage? Are there gas stations from Seattle to Achorage? How much money and food will I need?

I want to go to Bumbershoot, but I will be driving from Portland, and the hotels are so expensive around Seattle Center. Does anyone know of camping options? I would love to find a place to park my van and sleep.
