Hotels in Camp Pendleton/on base and flying?

My boyfriend is going to graduate from Marine boot camp in July, and I’m the one who’s trying to coordinate everything because his mom doesn’t have internet access or a credit card.

We’re from Michigan, so I’m wondering if anyone knew the best way to go about this. Also, my boyfriend wrote that his Senior Drill Sergeant mentioned that hotels on base are a lot cheaper, but I can’t find much information about this, or if there is actually any. I’m assuming that if they’re on base, they’d be a lot closer to him as well, so I (and his family) would prefer that. I’m also not sure what place I should go to try to arrange flights, or if I can buy his ticket back and send it to him so he’d be on the same flight as us.

Any suggestions on anything? Thank you if you can help!

    The ” hotels” on base at penalttton ****! They are old WWII barrackes with central heads. NO AC!! No screens on windows! Stay in town. call best western or comfort inn 800 numbers. fly into San Diego, cheaper that way. Good luck.

    Go online to sato travel ( not sure of the internet address) they have a program for military graduations to get you all of the info you need, airline flight, hotel stays, car rentals etc…..
    It really doesnt matter whether you stay on base or not because they cant stay with you and they all have to be back from liberty at the same time. Staying off base is nice because you can go sightseeing and have a much larger variety of dining. My husband just graduated from the Marines in April. I would be happy to give you my email address and you could email me and at that point I could give you my phone number and I have tons of good info I could help you out with. :)

    Marines graduate in San Diego MRCD located behind the San Diego Airport..

    Camp Pendleton is not where they graduate..That is a Marine base located far north from where you want to be..

    And Marine instructors are called Drill Instructors not drill Sergeants..

    I dont recommend staying on base..Its a very small base with not much going on..Its not a normal base..Its where Marines are made..

    You will be in the big city..There are hotels all over the place near the depot..Like I said..Its directly behind the SD airport.

    Search here for cheap hotels

    It provides search option like near a landmark etc
    Also it provide searches from more than one source.

    But beware … cheap hotels can be trouble some times so check reviews of the hotel your are going to book.

    Check the exact location of hotel from google maps.
