Bathing suit, towel, good walking shoes or hiking boots, and a variety of clothing, and a good, warm sleeping bag. Where to go - Acadia is a really good coastal campground in Maine. You'll want to call ahead for reservations. You probably won't get a spot with a view of the water, but it's within walking or driving distance, depending on where you want to go.
