Eli’s mommy ~~~ Rosie asked:
Camping? Rent a cabin on a lake? Hotel by the beach? Waterpark? Other?
Close to home or far far away?
kmc – me too! We are going up there in August!

Definitely the Beach!
That’s pretty much our yearly vacation spot. Unless you count the 2 times we went to Disney instead. Even so.. we took a day to drive down to the beach. lol
If my youngest and I had our way, we would do beach AND disney every single year. Hubby is sick of disney though and I think it’ll be a couple more years before we get to go back.
Now my DREAM family vacation would be to a tour costa rica rain forest. One day…….
My favorite vacation spot is near Lake Superior. It’s really pretty up there.
100% the beach!
If I had to make a second choice I would pick a waterpark.
Close to home is fine, less driving and less hassle means more time on the beach. Who cares how far away you are as long as you have fun? Of course if you live in the midwest I guess you would *have* to go far to get to the beach, but you know what I mean.
Well we live about 5 mins away from the beach, and are there a few times a week- so the beach is definitely not considered a “vacation” for us!
I would LOVE to go camping in the mountains. That would be my family’s dream vacation. We have family that owns land in the mountains in KY so eventually we will get to see this dream come true. I just hope it’s not too far in the future!
As far as vacations that we actually get to take, we love going camping whether near our home or far away. And we LOVE to visit New Orleans where our family lives and we used to live as well until Katrina wiped out our house. There is just ALWAYS something going on there- a music festival or an art show or something. It beats the heck out of our boring life out here in FL. lol.
Honestly it doesnt really matter as long as we all have fun together. But taking my kids to the BWCA this summer, cant wait get to teach them how to fish for the first time its gonna be fun.
And for vacations by Lake Superior head to the Bayfield area early fall its absolutly beautiful and I grew up 2 hrs away from that area. Also check around in Ashland which is 40 minutes from Bayfield at the vistor center for the local color tour in the fall also a good time, but not really for kids unless they like the color changes on trees
We’re going to Hawaii later on this year, so I’d definitely say that. They are a little too young for camping I think but that would be awesome too.
Snow!!!!
Anything to get away from this Texas heat!!!! We’ve been dying to get Ian back into the snow…especially now that he is nearing two and everything is still so new (even when he’s already toddled through snow before). Ideally we’d love to rent (or I would) love to rent a cabin in the middle of no where …. well I say middle of no where…isolated enough to be alone and have a good time with the whole family but close enough to run into town with stuff to do!!! Now the problem is saving up time and money….care to pitch in?
