When my family first moved outside of Humphreys they were only going to stay for 2 months so I got a small apt for 500/month. It was furnished with the necessities (which did not include a couch or bed.)
I would not stress on finding lodging before you go. There are cheap boom boom rooms in town for 30/night, a couple of nicer places for more (not nearly nice enough for what they charge), and you can always go into Pyongtaek where they have some outstanding rooms for 40/night.
Depending on your wife's housing arrangement she can put in a memo through her command or to the housing office to let you stay in her quarters. However, if you are a chick, which your picture implies, that is not an option since the military does not recognize a 'marriage' between two women.
If you opt to get an apartment, just go to one of the realty places. The one on the left corner two blocks straight from the drive through gate is who I used.
