Where is a good vacation spot for familys with school aged kids that is inexpensive?

Camping Hotels
Lisa B asked:

I live in NW Arkansas. I am willing to travel up to 500 miles away. I would consider camping as an alternative to staying in a hotel. I have 2 kids ages 8 and 11. All of the family enjoys being outdoors and sports.

You could go to the Texas coastline. Not too expensive. Texas has really nice state parks.

My Husband and I went camping at the Logely?State Park last November for our anniversary.Arkansas has so many beautiful state parks it would make a great choice. It was only $6 a night to rent our campsite but they were tent only.If you have a camper most also have the hookups available.
    I hope ya’ll have a great vacation!!

Check out camping sites. There’s a lot for the kids to do and they can learn a lot about Nature as well.

I was gonna say where I live-Jasper, Arkansas lol! I live at Jasper and there is a lot to do here -camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing that is cheap and fun.
Would the kids like to look for diamonds? That is fun and is in the southern part -is it Murpheysburough? And Petit Jean State Park is great too.
