Restingfighter asked:
I understand that seeing exotic animals and nature to its fullest is a great thing and not anything like your local zoo, but it is a billion dollar industry in Africa, where does all that money go?
My dad and I traveled to Tanzania and spent $ 3,000 for only a week to see animals in Sarenghetti and lived by camp hotel. It was all worthy it.

Hey, I have not (yet) tried a safari, but I suggest not to go with the large international travel agencies, but with smaller, local ones.
At least that’s how I found cheap tickets, hotels, or awesome deals in Germany, USA, China, Singapore, Dubai, etc.
Good luck!
Actually, it should be more expensive. People should learn to leave animals alone. Africans need money too.
The reason it is expensive is because of insurance. Most tours companies have insurance behind there product in case something happens to you. Also, since they are getting to be popular, the cost has risen as well. Granted you pay alot, but everyone I have sent has said the same thing and came back saying it was well worth the cost. It is not easy to get close to see some of the animals and is really dangerous, so there is some cost to that as well. Going to Africa is not like going to the zoo, you are in the wild and seeing the animals how they would normally act if they were not in a cage. Spend the money and you will see.
